Looking through this section of the forums, which is really the only reason i came back to the Beth-forums at all, I cannot believe how many gamers have no idea who Id and John Carmack are. Its the only reason i can come up with as to why so many people are comparing this game to others.
Am I alone here?

It's hard to still come up with original ideas, and even with John it's not guaranteed (not saying that RAGE won't have it's own innovations).

And why shouldn't one compare it to games like Borderlands which is simply awesome and I think many will want to see a 1:1 copy of it's co-op mode in RAGE (I know I do).

But yeah, whoever doesn't know what id and who John Carmack is should gtfo imo :>

borderlands svcked. sure it was fun if you co-op'ed it. but for a single player game? so monotonous

another reason you shouldnt compare it to borderlands is because it was in development waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before borderlands.
It came into development before bordrlands and will come out like 3 eyars after.. that should speak volumes about the quality this game will be.

Unfortunately, the game industry became very commercialised these days. That simply attracted many casual gamers into it. You know, nothing else but consumers who are only interested in devouring stereotypical images.

The worst of all is the fact that these guys never question the information which is thrown at them. They never research it on their own. So, it should not surprise us why rumors similar to " Rage copied Borderlands" are spreading like a plague among such people.
