Rage? Or simply a touched up Borderlands?

Well thats really all. I mean, I watched the trailer, and it looked a lot like borderlands. Just touched up with better graphics. But thats my opinion.
Tell me what you think?

Just because the art design looks a little familiar this game is Borderlands?

Are you not aware that RAGE runs on idTech 5? The technical graphics look far superior to borderlands. Moreover, this game also has better AI and completely different gameplay mechanics. Truly, had you been following this game from earlier on you should have been able to make out the difference.

Not to mention ID has been making this game since 2005, 2 years before anyone knew about Borderlands.

Lets not forget that id software invented the first person shooter. So technically, Borderlands (and every other first person shooter out there) copied id.

Hi,

I am extremely tired of explaining the same stuff over and over again. So, In order not to get annoyingly repetitive, I will just ask you (those who think it is a Borderlands copy or whatnot) to make a research on your own.

Actually, all you have to do is to answer a single question:

When was Rage first announced ? Then just take a look at the first teaser trailer on You tube.

… and once you go through all that, I am pretty much confident that you will know for sure who copied who. Moreover, you will also realise why Borderlands changed its art style so mysteriously in the very last moment.

Anyway, I will be externally happy to hear your opinion afterwards.

Thanks

The atmosphere is completely different from Blands. Blands was a frontier atmosphere, this is postapocalyptic. And it looks amazing.

But this is were you guys are getting me mad. I never said it was a remake, or a touch up. I just wanted to know everyones opinion on this.
Don't get me wrong, the game looks good as [censored]. I just saw a lot of resemblance to borderlands.

I see what you mean. Actually, Id software used the Mad max series as their main source of inspiration.
That's why everything in Rage is spinning around muscle cars and stalking desert bandits.
In addition, most of the weapons are handcrafted crossbows, boomerangs, side by side with futuristic bfg guns.

If you get familiar with all the details, I am absolutely sure that you will fall in love with that game.

Looks better graphically, but it still looks like borderlands. The longer I follow it, the more it looks like a worse version of Borderlands. We shall see, I suppose.

I understand it's like Boderlands but id Tech had this idea YEARS before anybody thought up the sadly disappointing Boderlands.

If you looked at a few screenshots of each game, you'd say they look very similar, but from what I've seen and heard from the developers, this game is going to be extremely different in the fact that it's not just another FPS, it's got minigames, racing, challenges, online marketplace, heaps of different rewards, all the scenery is unique and hand created.... I think it really is just.... a feat. tbh, there probably isn't going to be more then about 3 or 4 games that would be able to top this on the 360 (maybe on the PS3) if it lives up to what the developers are saying it is.

It reminds me of borderlands, but more repetitive. I hope there's gonna be more enemies than just mutants... or it will be extremely boring. I'm saying this because i bought the the rage app for the iphone, and i got bored half-way through the second level. It looks cool nonetheless, definitely looking forward to the playing it with the new engine.

Also, i saw the game cover for rage on gamestop. Idk if it's just temporary, or what. If it's not, i think they should redo it, seriously... it's way to plain... like cmon, an awesome game deserves an awesome cover.

There are mutants, looters, and the Authority (which I doubt they'd have in what basically is a demo, they want to save them for the end of the game).

If they are as diverse as I imagine there will never be a boring enemy to kill.

Borderlands was plenty repetitive.
