Anybody have any info on whether or not this game can be completed in single player or if it's dependent on co-op?

This is one of my biggest fears with this game. As most of us know, Borderlands was SP and co-op. But they made it sound as though you could play through on single player no problem. However, I found out quickly that if I wanted to do that I would have to level up repeating the same actions over and over until I could have a chance against certain enemies and bosses.

So, I'm hoping RAGE will allow me to play through both without having to do such a thing. I don't know a whole lot about RAGE at this moment, I've seen a few videos and saw the first bits of gameplay at E3 2010. It looked more like an FPS than a hybrid of FPS/RPG, correct me if I'm wrong.
