Having a similar issue on PS3, only mine seems to happen when trying to leave a casino. Never had the issue before, got on the Strip, tried to leave the Lucky 38 and black screen. This happened repeatedly, finally it loaded me out, I then went into Gomorroh, tried to leave, same thing, black screen. I have to hold down the PS3's power button to get out of it, controller doesn't even respond. I have the patch, and it didn't fix it.

I have this problem too, i can go to Freeside and everything but when I try to get into the Strip it goes Black and its Frozen, what svcks is now I can't even beat the game until they patch this since I have like 2 more quests in the strip that are part of the main story.

Really? The 2-3 other threads on the front page didn't answer this problem for you?

Well damn, here's the fix to this problem.

Read the other threads on the subject.

Ignore Land of the Dead, he's a well established troll on this board.

Lots of people are experiencing the same glitch you are. It's caused by a bug with the debt collector quest, specifically the Old Cowboy Hat you gave to the Atomic Wrangler to complete it. If there is no Old Cowboy Hat in The Strip the area will crash when trying to load, you can get around it by equipping one yourself. Bethesda hasn't said anything about fixing this, so hopefully you can find one.

Its funny because when you take the hat away from the guy (forget the name) in the Debt collector quest he still has the hat on his head although you have taken it. I know its only a small issue within the game, but surely there must be away for the developers to make the hat disappear off his head, like when you take a dead persons clothing.

The solution is to talk him out of the hat (hat comes off his bald head,) and then kill him anyway.

Thank you, I tried this and it works, I know Mickey and Ralph's has an old Cowboy Hat so just go there to pick one up.
