Why am I not given host?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:09 am

Although many say I have a "good connection" (they have 13/20mb down 1.5 up so, no not good for games) brink with it's rather dumb idea of P2P with 16 players is the cause of most of the lag. Most don't have the upstream to host a game to be honest I think brink needs more than my upstream. I honestly think also that a local setting is needed to help with latency & also better host selection or the option to rent servers on console. Even I think my upstream will be pushed to do 16 players!

I'm willing to pay lets say an additional $10 dollars for a game with dedicated servers. BFBC2 and the last Medal of Honor are two great example of how good a game can be for all players. If you lag is your connection and nobody else will have to suffer. They both had problems at lauch but a couple of days later it was better. I'm about the abandon console gaming, but the comfort that console gives is what keeping me here. Last video card I bought it was an ATI 4970 and I spent almost $500, way too much beef to keep up with PC gaming.

Let's be honest, some bean-counter told the money guys that they could reap another 1% profit by opting out of a server based game and going with a P2P type setup. What has this gotten Bethesda??? A bad rep??? I know I won't buy another game from them and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
