regarding DLC...

please bethesda, if your going to make DLC...

make it another landmass or nothing.

people can roleplay with landmass.

Whearas once a linear, corridor shooter DLC is done.. it is done, and there is little sense of money well spent.

shivering isles would have sort of svcked if once we killed Jyggallag the gate to the isles closed.. leaving the player thinking, 'well that was nice'

Landmass DLC or nothing bethesda.

Actually the DLC could be in a really cramped place lite The Pitt as long as it has some great roleplaying possibilities.
Big landmass =/= great roleplay experience.

I dont mind too much about the landmass long as theres alot to do. I am still hopeful for a Area 51 type of DLC which would put us in the groomlake area which is the dry lake bed to the north/northeast of the facility and then the facility itself which strentches a good 50 levels below ground. If they can put a good story with the DLC like I am thinking how it could be done then it wouldnt have to have a map as huge as FO3 in of itself it could be as small as Point Lookout on the exterior and inside area51 underground its the size of MZ at the bare minum.

totally disagree.

I would rather a DLC be a questless landmass than a corridor shooter which you cannot return to.

I never said you couldn't return there and I never said it would be a corridor shooter.
It's not about how big the area is but what they do with what's there.

Wait, you'd prefer it if they added an empty landmass with exactly nothing whatsoever to do there?

I completely agree. For example, Mothership zeta was fun while it lasted (A whole 1 hour), but DLC like Point lookout had a lot more role playing aspects to it, and made the game more enjoyable.

Well Area 51 would be cool my only qualm with it would be the fact that they would probably do some [censored] alien DLC with it, if they were going to have a DLC like that I'd love to have something more original because everyone always associates Area 51 with some extra terrestrial life or UFOs or something else stupid along those lines.

How about a DLC relating to the fact that its an Air Force Training and Testing Ground for new Aircraft? Maybe some secret weapon the U.S. was cooking up for the war?

Anything but another alien DLC, Mothership Zeta was god awful.

i would like an expansion pack instead...... adds like a big area to the world map, lots of new clothes, new chars, and etc.....

like if it cant fit... hide a loading time with like a fence....

you dont need quests to enjoy landmass.

I am enjoying the silgrad tower mod on morrowind very much and have done none of the quests... its just cool to explore.

theres room for exploration.

How many times can you explore a straight corridor?

That IS what area 51 is used for, only the crazy people think there are aliens inside it. I wouldn't mind seeing some experimental aircraft, a army of liberty primes or prototypes for new models of a liberty prime.

And agreed lets keep the aliens out of fallout.

Aliens, if done well, can have a place in Fallout. Mothership Zeta was not well done- even without the Alien element it was a horrible DLC. Aliens- which are borderline Fallout- only exasperated the issues in MZ.

At any rate, I'm in the camp who says that large landmasses do not neccissarily mean good roleplay experences. Any fan of The Pitt will tell you that- Roleplay is more than simple exploration, it's also about doing things. I lean more towards the "doing things" side of Roleplay, rather than exploration (though I certainly enjoy that part too!)

My vote goes for expansion pack. I'v always thought DLCs in general to be waste of money and potential.

Well my idea doesnt have Area 51 as an alien strewn house of horrors type facility. My idea was a facility with atleast 50 levels (floors) going under ground and each floor was dedicated to a different area of research. One level would be on research on ETB`s, one would be on research of extraterrestial science research, one level would be on energy weapon research, one level could be on military vehicles (land/air/sea), ect. This way as I was thinking as we move along the facility it is always changing its never just one topic throughout. In real life Area 51 is pretty much the same way.

Personally if we could get it as an expansion to make things even bigger I would prefer this but since area 51 is situated in a dry lakebed in a valley surrounded by mountains theres not much room so a DLC would be the only logical choice.

If I had the time and the ability to I would download the geck and make my own underground bunker for FO3 and make it just like Area 51 but give it another name.
