Installed this game, and when i get box to start game, options etc... i press start, computer thinks it 5 seconds and then it shut it down without any message.

As posted in other threads please post the Application Log Event Viewer entries relating to your crash. Windows 7 is very very picky about application compatibility and running legacy audio or video codecs can cause instability.
With that said go to start, run and type 'eventvwr'. right click your application log and filter by 'Application Error'.
Post your results keeping in mind the information we are concerned with is the faulting module.

I LOVE fallout and I want to play it. I've had enough with shody games being released, and here I am thinking Paradox are poor for there inability to fix Hearts of Iron III issiues, but at least that game will start...=/
Edit: I actully go NV to run when I changed the launcher and NV.exes to windows compatibility mode XP SP3, but the gfx are poor, the screen is windowed in with black surround and the sliders don't work.....

Nope, not all are unknow, there is like 20 error report of them but some of them shows as unknow
Will try that if it wont work when i try download copy from steam, and not install from dvd

so i have this instant crash issue as well, so i tried the help i've found around here, and unfortunatly it's been of no use.

i've tried reinstalling, but neither steam nor the uninstall program actually does anything, no files are removed at all, so i can't actually uninstall it to renstall it

I had this problem. Decided to skip the launcher and go straight for falloutnv.exe in the steamapps/common/fallout nv folder. I then got an error message about d3dx9_38.dll.

Almost any reference to a missing d3dx9-anything just means you need a copy of Dx9 installed (makes no difference if you have Vista or Win 7).

omg so gutting got the game today ass soon as i load it up i get falloutnv has stopped working every time and from all the posts i have seen seams i have wasted my cash since most shops dont refund pc games
