Missing Guns & Odd Occurrences

Tonight I picked up some spears from some Caesar legion dudes.
4 of them were 100% CND and 5 were less than perfect.
I dropped them to make space, and as I dropped them one at a time I got to the last one I suddenly had 11 of them in my inventory.

A problem that could be related is I'm finding things in my inventory from other saved games.
the first time I played I ran around an picked up every pre-war book I saw, but due to missing/corrupt game files I started a new game.
Yet I had all of the books in my inventory when I got my pip boy not having picked up a single book!

I am going to backup my save games, and delete them from the save game folder then start over to see if this helps.
Too bad I'm already invested 8+ hours into my current save. :sadvaultboy:

THe local temp files of the game are only cleared when you exit the game fully. If you load without exiting the gamebryo engine is prone to not unload fully and properly. Stuff like this has been around since TES4: Oblivion.

So far at least FO NV doesn't have Oblivion famous FormID bug. Every item that spawned (projectiles, dropped loot etc) had a FormID. Some script was in a loop eating through the available ID's like crazy. The result it ate them all and then started eating the old ones. Those start as old arrows and stuff you never see again but then it started all your stored loot... That was a nasty bug, I rather have duplication then deletion ;)

I have deleted all my saves plus all the .ini files in Documents\My Games\FalloutNV and restarted the game.
I think this is for the best since I have been playing since its release, and some bugs might have been saved.

After all that the game does seem to run much smoother now than it did before! :disguise:
