Which companions will you choose?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 1:29 am

I play my character as a grumpy loner, so I will pick RP-relevant companions. ED-E because it is quiet, has censors to help with security, and my character is a repair-whiz; and Raul, who will have a relationship with my character similar to that of Shrek and Donkey, where Raul is grateful for my character accidentally saving him and follows him through the Mojave.

I plan on rolling with ED-E and Veronica or Gannon depending on what I'm getting into. I hope ED-E can talk.

None
None

I don't like companions, spiffy new wheel and perks or not. I will play through each of their storylines on various playthroughs just to see whats up, then they're fired.

Cass. Her father deserves it.

oh yeah, i'll never forget the countless occasions where he emptied his jackhammer magazine into my back. good times :D
raul and ed-e for me. the others are also interesting, but i don't want to gather a whole posse around me.

Cass and Rex

I didn't pick Cass for the perk because the character I'm pairing her up with dislikes alcohol.

Rex because he is a dog with

Why would Rex's brain be on the outside though, I know its cool looking and fits the retro sci fi but I just keep thinking why didn't they just stick the brain back in his head, only explanation is that the jar brain could not fit in any possible way and all the cybernetics connected to the brain's tissue is implanted through the skull and where his brain should have been is a mess of metal wires or who knows what.

Also wonder if Rex's quest will pick an upgrade to be more of a machine or to be more of a real dog.

That would be great.

I would hate for it to be one way though and get stuck with a wholey cybernetic canine. or for some people the other way around.

I'm giving ED-E an audition because having a spherical companion hover behind my character reminds me of that talking skull from Planescape: Torment.

As for the others, Cass has a cool perk but I'm not committing to anything.

I'll take arcade gannon and ED-E, just because they're the most mysterious

i'm going with this also, i'm thinking about picking up where i left off with my science/medicine/energyweapons character from fallout 3, but we'll see.....

I chose Veronica and Rex.

ED-E would be cool.... but from my Fallout 3 experience, with too high PE, enemies further away are detected and don't allow fast travel cause the message, Enemies are nearby comes up. Although the detect cloaked would be very useful.

Probably none because they'll give away my position when sneaking, but I could use ED-E to spot enemies from afar then tell it to stay put while I sneak around.

Lily is meant to be a stealthy character.

Cass, because she is a daughter of Cassidy and her perk is fantastic. Also ED-E, his quest will undoubtedly be interesting.

I will give each one two chances (first chance is just getting them for the trophy) if they fail to meet my expectations they will be executed publicly

Chances are I'll recruit either Arcade or Cass. It's really too early to tell.

Though, I hear tell that if you rise to a high enough rank in the Legion/NCR, you can have a Legionnaire/Trooper tag along with you. I'll definitely have on of Ceasar's men join me in my travels.

I'm getting Boone and ED-E, definetley! Rex wouldn't be very useful to me, as I only ever go close range while I'm using a Stealth Boy, to maximise it's effect. I generally use the longer range weapons, preferably the Hunting Rifle. Plus, Boone has a sniper, so I could pick off those pesky but rather unnaccurate (But incredibly powerful with close range guns and Big Guns) raiders and supermutants.

None/None.
I don't trust AI. Even with companion wheel... just no.
Of course depends on playthrough (none on first i think).
And whether i can gain tactical advantage from using one. Say... send someone with a melee weapon to an enemy group, and then fire a rocket on him/her (while sneaking for sneak attack critical). Wiht any luck, that'll blow up the whole lot.

Yes, it is a bit callous but that's what my first character is going to be, a callous manipulator.
