So, I've decided that for my first playthrough I'll play as myself. Being a vegetarian, I thought it'd might make for better immersion to have my me character not eat any meat. (I'm usually not bothered about eating virtual meat in video games before anyone asks ) Obviously in the wasteland vegetarianism isn't much of an option. Food is a lot more scarce and I wouldn't be able to just kill something if I'm low on stuff to eat. That, and the majority of consumable items will probably be meat anyway.

My question is - Do you think it'd be too difficult on hardcoe mode to not eat any meat (or wear leather) or do you think it'd be an interesting challenge for me?

This is a very intersting idea and could be a great but very challenging way to play the game on hardcoe Mode. It would be difficult, at best, but I imagine it could very well be possible. You may, at times struggle to come across some food which isn't meat.

Great idea....just be sure to stock up early on so there won't be too much hassle when struggling to find suitable food.

I think your idea is a very cool spin.. In fact I may actually borrow this concept for a second play through. My first will be "hunter living off the land" sort of thing.

I have always wanted to play a passive char. An intellectual/vegan/diplomat sounds extremely challenging. Tao'ist monk kinda thing. I know i'm taking it a bit further than your idea.. but never had I thought about adding the vegitarian concept. What a GREAT idea..

As you say in the wasteland making the argument you can be perfectly healthy without eating meat in a desert or in this case post apocalyptic desert is difficult.
If you don't mind eating people you could take the cannibal perk for a bit of delicious irony.

Or you could look at it this way, most of the animal will be hostile anyway, if you already had to kill it in self defense you might as well eat it.

Not a vegetarian, but I am a hardcoe gamer. Daaaaamn, that's an awesome idea! That'd make the game really hard..core. Oh baby! I think I'm going to jizz my pants as if I'd eaten a truckload of Asparagus-! (Er, the Zinc in the stuff, for anybody who wants to look up Biochemistry... xD)

Interesting challenge will give it a try after I play through the game a couple of times.

Very true. I'll definitely be grabbing the cannibal perk.

I'll also be grabbing the animal friend perk asap but beforehand, I'll see if I can find boxing gloves to avoid killing animals. If I do though... well, I won't let it go to waste. :shrug:
