Problem using existing voice files in new race/quest!

Hi guys,
I made a new companion with new race. I am trying to use existing raider/fiend voice files in this new race but cannot get the companion to say the voice files. The written quest dialogue all works fine (using rrcompanions). Here is what I have done:

1. unpacked the voice file (.oggs) and lip sync file.
2. moved them to the proper folder (data/sound/voice/mymod.esp/femalegroupraider)
3. associated the voice file with the response text in the topic and renamed them to match the name assigned in the edit response window
4. the voice file WILL play when the response info is double-clicked.
5. the character WILL show the written response in-game.
6. the character will NOT speak the voice file or use the lip sync file.

when I create the response info from scratch (typing the matching dialogue in) the boxes at the bottom (the file path and file info) say the file is an mp3. the little mp3 box says Y. when I use the "move to quest" drop down choice to move the info from its original quest/topic location, the little mp3 box says N. I have tried it both ways.

I know it can be done because I have a mod, slaveraider, and the mod maker did exactly what I am trying to do. Mine looks just like his, but I cannot get the npc to speak the voice files.

Any ideas?

If steps 4 and 5 are working then you are almost there. This is exactly how I have done it. If there is no lip or sound, but you have the response text, then - did you set the voicetype of your NPC to femalegroupraider ?

Also, Just make sure you leave the voice files as .ogg

I sure did Rick. Made sure the race had that voice type plus the npc the same voice type. Left files as .ogg. Just like I saw it done in other mods. Still cant spot what I am leaving out. Am gonnna try it again tomorrow, step by step.
When you did it did you recreate the info's or move them from other quests?

Now here is one thing. The voice files I am using are mostly spoken in-game by npc's with voice type femaleadvlt07. I assume you can re-assign them to femalegroupraider. The edit response window automatically assigns them that file path, I assume because that is the voice type of the npc whose name is selected in the topic window to speak the lines. I will try changing the npc to femaleadvlt07 and see if that matters.

I figured it out! Turns out I was making a noob mistake. Here is what I was doing wrong. May be instructive for others. When I created the info's I was working in an esp (of course) so the GECK gave a path name the included "mymod.esp/femalegroupraider". However, I was converting the plugin to esm in order to make a custom race texture work. That meant the file path should have been "mymod.esm." I wasn't changing it!.

Thanks for the feedback:)

Doh! I've done that too ;)

Another thing i've forgotten to do is start the quest that has the new dialog.
