Since I have not seen a thread for the information surrounding Ulysses and his background, I decided to go ahead and make one.

Q: Who and what is Ulysses?

A: He was a human who worked as a Courier for the Mojave Express, and was the original Courier Six [You play as the second Courier Six].

Q: Why is he important, and what is his role?

A: He passed down the Delievery Job to you for unknown reasons, and is essentially the reason you nearly died- but it is also known that The Courier will deal with Ulysses in future DLC, it is speculated that they will fight each other in an area known only as 'The Divide'.

Q: Why did he pass the chip down, and did He and the Courier have a relationship?

A: It is unknown why he passed it down at the moment, The Courier and Ulysses seem to have had a past together- but not a 'Intimate' relationship.

Q: How do we know about Ulysses, and why he is going to be in future content?

A: In the Collector's Edition of New Vegas he appeared on a playing card and was a leftover from Cut-Content of New Vegas, and in the DLC 'Dead Money' several things reference to him and his appearance.
