[REQ] Fallout: NV Vault 21 Mod For Borderlands.

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 12:33 am

I'm in need of a game save. Assuming game saves for F:NV work like i think(like borderlands). I've done quite a bit of modding for Borderlands, and i want to make a replica Vault 22 for Borderlands. I need a save that has vault 22 on the map, And Cleared out.(Missions done, Enemies dead). I need it to reference so i can make it as similar as possible. been through the game 2.5~ Times on Xbox, So im not just looking for an easy walk through :P. I'd realy appreciate if anyone can simply upload a copy of their game save and send me a link.

i realize this is the fallout forum, not Borderlands. but i figure this might be the only place i can get a save. hope im not too out of line posting this.

Thanks

Vault 21 doesn't appear on the map, and has no enemies in it. Are you sure you aren't thinking of something else?

You will find most peeps in the mods section are using PC's and those saves won't work on your 360. The best I could do for you would be a bunch of screen pics.....don't know if that's any good to you or not

You could play with the console to get there.

use these commands in the console:

tgm - God mode (also gives unlimited ammo + no need to reload)
tcl - Toggles clipping, which enables the player to move in any direction, including through solid objects and/or empty space. (A.K.A. "noclip"). It allows you to "fly" over an area and view it or get unstuck from a location.
tmm 1 - Turns on all Pip-Boy map markers.
killall - Kills all NPCs in the area

If you dont know how to use the console:

To access the console, use the backquote key (`) while in-game (Unpaused). The backquote key shifts to tilde (~) on US keyboards, and the not symbol (?) on UK keyboards. Other keyboards will differ, but the key is usually to the left of 1, and just under the Escape key (Esc). The key is the top left key under escape, on non-US keyboards. (Example: ยง, ? or | on Scandinavian (Swedish, Danish, Norwegian etc), circumflex (^) on German keyboards, 2 on French ones, \ or | on Italian Keyboards, ' on Brazilian Keyboards, " on Turkish keyboards). The HUD will disappear and you will get a prompt (|) in the lower left corner of the screen where you can type-in code(s).

I think the key combination alt+tab works to switch to windowed mode and back to full screen. There also an option to start in windowed mode in the Options menu in the launcher.
There used to be a console command to teleport to a location but i cant remember nor find it.

Awsome. The no clip will be great for wide/high veiws of stuff :) This should be fun. I've been wanting to do some mods for fallout for a while. But dont have much patience for learning a new editor :P so this will be great!

Wait, you can mod for Borderlands now?
As in you can load up UED and make content for the game?

Yes sir. Been working on maps and custom content for about a year now. Othes have been doing it for even longer. http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=108800. Its a list of all the "formaly" reserved projects for the Hub, Oasis. A hand full of people are still around, But the community is pretty much gone now, So spread the word if you know anyone that would be interested. More tracif would be awsome :) Lots of new content.

Errr. New issue. I got the window mode to work fine, Minus "Maximize", "minimize",And "close" buttons, So the only way to free the mouse from the F:NV Window is to Ctrl+Alt+Del and start tast mngr and click on another window. This would work, If the game didnt pause its self once i ctrl+alt+del....so Kinda stuck. Cant reference a pause screen :P Any ideas? :)

Damnit I had no idea.
How well do the tools work? Is the process of getting the UED to function correctly hacky?
I see that it is unsupported.

Tools do great. Have only worked with the UDK a bit, But from what i have worked with its very similar(Obviously, Their both UE). But the "The Editor" or the "BL Editor"(Is what "We" call it) is very glitchy/touchey. Some things you cannot change, Try, And it will crash. Some things are just very touchy in that when working with them(Like terrain layers) the editor often crashes. But Aside from the bugs, You can do almost anything a BL dev could. Make completely new weapons, Materials, Enemies, Charecters, Sound Cues, maps, The whole 9.

Try changing windows while in the console. The game pauses itself when in console mode but you can still see everything on the screen

Why don't you just load up the cells in the GECK? Doing it in-game while switching back in forth is definitely hard way.

Cause i've only opened the geck once, And havent gotten to opening any maps :P Like i said earlier, at this point im not very interested in learning a new editor. But im sure opening and navigating a map isnt a magical new concept. Maybe i'll try it out. Thanks for the idea.

A bit late, but i would like to share a key combination i learned recently (that i wish i had known of for years) CTRL + SHIFT + ESC opens the taskmanager without the hassle of exiting the windows enviroment.
