i can understand bethesda and obsidian not wanting to give us dates for when a patch would be available, there's lots of reasons why they wouldn't (though i wish they would).
however, there are 2 bits of information that i think would be extremely useful for them to share with the community:
(1) have the devs reproduced this issue reliably? and if they have, can someone please tell us what is causing it? i won't play new vegas again until i know that i can avoid corrupted saves (preferably because all the save issues have been fixed). if someone can tell us what is causing the issue, then at least people can play the game and try to avoid the problem area/item/quest/whatever. i know i would rather be able to play part of the game while waiting for the patch rather than not play it at all for fear of lost saves.
(2) can someone let us know what is going to happen with our saves that are unable to load? all the "official" posts i've seen say to revert to an older save. is this a confirmation that saves affected by the DLC issue are entirely lost? do the devs know if the saves are actually corrupt or if there is just some issue where the game itself doesn't recognize something in the file even though it was saved correctly? as much as it would svck to lose those saves entirely, i'd rather know about it now than have my hopes crushed when the patch comes out and my saves still don't work.
hopefully this was constructive, and my apologies if there are answers out there to these questions that i hadn't seen yet.
