How do you attach weapon upgrades? : Fallout: New Vegas

Can't seem to do it via clicking in inventory and can't seem to do it at the work bench...

/confused?

For the 360 its when you have the gun selected and press the left bumper, it should show on the righthand side by the little picture.

For pc open the pit boy and select the weapon and press x it will show you if you have availeble upgrade for it.

for ps3 its L2 when highlighted over the gun
