Idolized by NCR : Fallout: New Vegas

I am idolized by the ncr and I go to camp mccarren and talk to the guy who gives me the keys to the ncr ranger safe house. Now I have done the BOS missions and I have power armour training. I don NCR ranger combat armour and suddenly I am only neutral at NCR locals? Please explain this to me

Its not a glitch you put on a faction disguise.

Vukodlak is correct, a faction disguise will set your faction rep to neutral so long as you do not commit hostile actions and you are wearing it, it does at times have a glitch when taken off the faction tag sticks with you for a while.

Chiefly when you use the faction armor your wearing to repair another suite of armor.
