I probably would've had my ass handed to me at level 8 lol. I went in at 20 and it was fine - however I did bump up my strength on a level up perk so I could carry out more stuff.

I went at six and made it out, just make sure you be careful in where to level your stats out, it's important in there.

In hardcoe, you're constantly losing health - like literally, you lose health just by being outside.

Every stimpack counts, so Medicine/Survival skills are important in regenerating lost HP. I was level 30 playing on hardcoe and during the initial DLC quests I found myself being squeezed tight in terms of HP/stimpack/food management. It wasn't impossible, but I actually had to be careful.

I went in at level 24. It was hard, but very playable. I'd recently pushed my melee to 45 for the cowboy perk. Having some melee skill is definitely a big help. Survival I had accidently pushed to 45, and that helped too. I play on normal (non-hardcoe), and it was hard. I tend to not EAT any food at all and drink water only rarely. I typically use stimpaks and Sarsaparilla for all my health needs. This thing had me eating food and drinking all the water I could get (dirty water included) at the beginning. Hell, I was rationing that too, just to avoid wasting any of the HP. I died in there more than I've died in any other part of NV. That being said, most of my deaths were due to the collar.

I had a TON of fun and played for well over 12 hours in the Sierra Madre. BEST DLC EVER!
