Some questions .. : Fallout: New Vegas

First sorry for my english ... : /

So I have a "PS3" and my computer is horrible (do not come to that of "buy a better computer"because I live in Brazil and things just do not work that way ...) so I bought the Fallout vegas new "and I have restart the "PS3 " every 60 minutes I guess ..... I just want to know if there is one safe way to restart the "PS3 ", some people are sayng that restart the the console many times (pressing the button up the console to automatically restart )break the console . I just turn off the console and wait three seconds, and turn again. It's better that way right? If not What do I do? Why the "Bethesda / Obsidian" do not show attitude and do something? Why freezes so much? I researched a lot and I find no answer to the most annoying problem in the game, and honestly it seems they do not care, they do not bother to explain what's going on, it's very frustrating ... :banghead:

EDIT: My PS3 is in a well ventilated place and do not sweat much, and when my mother buy a FULL HD TV (only for her ? ?) I have swapped the PS3 place often. Should I stop it? damage the console?

Unfortunately the reason the game freezes so much is because of the software it uses, Gamebryo. This problem can never be fixed with a patch, and if it is causing you a lot of grief I would try and sell it.

Although repeated shutting down of your console may do damage, it isn't a for sure thing.

Switching any device on/off lots and lots of times (which basically a reset is) have a small chance to hurt electric hardware. For example, lightbulbs pretty much only die when you turn them on for the thousandth time (or whatever), they never die while they are on or when turned off.

But in the grand scheme of things, this is an extremely unlikely thing to hurt the PS3. Old-fashioned lightbulbs are a much more unreliable than the PS3 (or any modern piece of electronic hardware) in this regard.

As I see it, the two main things that can cause a PS3 to die are overheating (which pretty much only happens to older models, more explained below) or that the blu-ray drive die (optical drive issues were present on both on the PS1 and PS2 and are to an extent present on the 360 and PS3 too). This is why I wish all PS3 games supported 100% game installs, as the less the blu-ray drive is used, the better. Faster and more reliable.

Any complex piece hardware can of course die in multiple other ways too, but these are what I consider the two most likely bad things that might happen, not that it's switched on/off a lot.

The safest way to shut down your system is by simply pressing the power button a single time and waiting for the system to shut down. It may not do so right away, but it is important you don't just unplug it or use the power swith in the back if you have an older model.

another quick note, i saw your comment about moving your system around a lot. Before doing this, you should remove any discs in the system so that they dont become loose and move around.
