The game is unplayable for most of us.

"We've been filling vacation requests from everyone so it's been building up for a while," he added. "We actually ended up doing a lot of that earlier this month and last month so everyone's coming back now and getting into the swing of things."

So that's why the game had so many bugs. They were on vacation instead of testing you bunch of *******!

this game had a lot of potential, but it just svcks. really. it locks up so much, bugs out all the time, and the lost save issue. they can make another fallout but i won't buy it.

That is the thing.Obsidian had the template from Fallout 3.The same exterior and interior.Add a few bits here and there.
Add a few new creatures, and humans. All they had to work on was quests and throwing it all together on that template.
Bethesda did all the work with Fallout 3.All Obsidian had to do was throw icing on the cake.Instead they took a dump on it.

Everyone warned me that Obsidian would screw it up.I thought they did a good job, even with all the glitchs. But I cannot forgive them for the save corruption bug. That is inexcusable.

And added a cherry on top. And a small note reading "Enjoy your game."

OT - I don't even know what I can say about this topic, actually. The three/four weeks off "on vacation" could have been spent ensuring the game was good to go. I know games are usually ready well before the release date, but still.

Idk man, that could be true but i feel like Beth rushed the release a little just to launch before titles like Fable III and COD: Black Ops so they would have less trouble competing with them and in the process they overlooked some not so minor bugs. I'm just confused as to how they missed so many bugs, a good portion of them being game breakers even...doesn't add up

Well, there isn't really any other explanations. As they say, sad but true. They need to forget about competition, and provide polished and quality products. I think the competition completely clouds their judgement. They want to release it asap, but don't think as to what a week or two could have meant to the overall quality of the game. Of course, as they are a company the scale will tip in favour of profits - Nothing else.

I'm just waiting for this patch to be announced - I swear it'll feel like Christmas.

what is really sad that they fixed similar issues with the last game in patches and they STILL got them wrong this time. Its like trying to nail up a board with no nails, then someone hands you the nails you stick them in your pocket and continue trying to hang the board with no nails.

can you imagine how that phone call goes

O: We are having a little trouble with your engine, It freezes and corrupts the auto save.
B: Yeah, we had that problem last time too.
O: Ok ( click )

I had a lot of anticpation for this XBox 360 game. The game could have been great, but to me it is unplayable also. It worked fine for a while, then starting with vault with the fiends, it started to freeze on saving. You try to restart it, it freezes. You try to reload at a lower level and it works for little while, then freezes. It takes the fun away from the game when you know that you will never be able to complete it and all the progress you make will be lost.

Because of the quotes from the devs at obsidian in that article, I can say now that I will NEVER BUY ANOTHER GAME FROM OBSIDIAN. Bethesda yes, but never any pre-orders.....
