[idea] FOUK

Fallout UK anyone?

OK a full mod would be a boat load of work but I figure we could sneak up on it.

As a first step I'm making a British Power Armour (Mk3 "Tin Tommy" Power Armour) which will hopefully be fun by itself but also maybe give me something shiny to attract help with :)

Now if it's still just me it'll likely end there, but if others want to join in the next stage could be a British outpost in the Mojave.
This would contain some troops and techs sent to asses the situation over the pond.
They'd have a number of fact or asset finding quests that earn you rep with them and in return you get access to themed perks and equipment.

(Also a possible idea to link any larger mod in could be having one of the quests be to clear the rad scorpions from searchlight airport to reopen the Brits supply line, this could also give you the option to 'fly' to the UK from there)

Now though I'm not going for a full mod straight off, I have had a few ideas for it...

FALLOUT UK - Green Unpleasant Land

Theme, sticking with the 1950s but still echos of WW2 since theres been more war in europe in the fallout universe.

Characters

Player Character?
The Queen
Agent 7
The Brigadear
The Queen

Locations

Mutant forrests have reclaimed much of the land, making some areas unwalkable (this would allow us to focus on smaller easy to handle areas at least at 1st)

Different areas could be reached via train stations, working similar to the monorail between the strip and mcarren.

Bunks - Enlglish Vaults

Small Towns

Perhaps small areas of Major cities London (The Underground would cool), Manchester...

Factions

The Home Guard

Tin Tommies (power armoured troops)

Palace Guard/Red coats

Bobbies

Mods

Black Shirts

Wicker Men

Chavs

Critters

RadSquirells

Giant Rats (Brown)

DeathBeaks (mutant pigeons)

Perks

Stiff Upper Lip

Make Do and Mend

Hooligan!

Knighthood

Queens English

Dandy Highwayman

Posters

Bunk Up for Britain!

See Britain By Train (real)

Songs/Possible quest titles

Run! Rabbit Run!

I'm in the mood

Radiostations

BBC - reports on the players actions in a very proper BBC english voice

This looks fun. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Britain (but it seems there isn't much).

I think this is a good idea, the lore does touch on the English speaking Uk and Antipodean remenants of civilisation I believe.

THis was something that also potentially had some scope in FO3 as well but I don't think ever took off.

I think it'd be great to have some worldly travellers around, even take it as far as a extended world map with global destinations.

It's all entirely possible!

The other great aspect of this is would be down to voice acting, because my fake accents are pretty bad! :D

The Chavs faction made me laugh.

It's a great idea. Wish you luck with making it happen!

edit: weird, if you don't use the plural for the faction it censors it.

I like the starting point of landing an expeditionary force at the Searchlight Airport, even if you never go to the UK (slight practicality issues there...) it's got a lot of potential. I look forwards to seeing the Tin Tommy (great name).

Sounds fun. However, it seems more practical and lore-friendly to keep it as just a base, with your power armor, a faction or two, and some perks etc. Basically what you have planned but on a smaller scale. This way it'll take less time to make, and if it becomes popular enough, you can add on to it.

Either way, I'm sure it'll turn out great.
