Legendary Creature Head Collectiion

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:05 pm

I remember when I killed my first Legendary creature, the Night Stalker, I kinda wished I could take his head with me and put it in my room on one of those little holders. (I believe there is already a world prop for this with a mole rat's head) It would be nice to rack up a collection of all the legendary creatures you've slain and display them proudly in your suite. It seems relatively easy to make to me, also the fact that the mount for the head is already on the game, although I don't know how much trouble it will be taking the mole rat head off the model.

this is like the easiest thing in the world to make for any modeller. kinda makes it worth doing for the little bit of effort. probably a good project for someone just dipping their toes into 3d art.

I would love to see this made possible.

It's probably fairly simple to accomplish, as well... so who knows. Maybe someone will take it up. I'll definitely keep an eye open for it if someone does. It'd be pretty wicked to have, especially once/if Feng Shui ever comes out.

Could mount the damn things on any wall of our choosing. A reminder of our victories over the denziens of the waste.

Of course, I wouldn't mind if HUMAN heads could be collected, as well.

You know... for the morbid...

Hi Ghogiel =D quick off topic question, do you plan on modding regularly for NV? (i just moved the misc item mod with the bowling ball and pins over to nv for my own fun and i love rolling the bowling ball across the floor lol)

on topic...i love that idea...i LOVE trophies in general, although in real life i wouldnt be able to kill an animal even if i didnt pin it on my wall, but in game id love that, anyone willing to make it would have my admiration...for all thats worth :P...

EDIT: love the human head idea too, but that would probably be really hard lol, maybe if it was just for the important people (President Kimball, Caesar,Motor-Runner, Elder McNamara and Benny)

I don't think human heads (what with their FaceGen geometry) would be all that easy to do. Creature heads, on the other hand, are certainly possible, and this is a wonderful idea.

No? I thought for certain there would be ways to do this.

I mean, they've created utilities that allow the player to take the face from one character and put it onto another in a completely different game. Obviously, the game must store this information somewhere.

Surely there could be a way, maybe with NVSE, to make human heads work...

Maybe not, though... I don't know.

I'm not the modeler sort. I'm an interiors guy, mostly. Dialogue, too, once I learn how to do it again.

There's currently no way to dynamically alter a model in-game, especially an activator or moveable static (as opposed to an actor). You might be able to get around this with some scripting and have the 'head' be the actual head of the actual NPC (as in, the NPC would be standing there with his head being visible but the rest of his body invisible) but it'd probably look really stupid.

I did something similar for FO3, Tax-e-dermics, where you could "stuff" creatures you killed, but it was the entire creature, not just the head, which I didn't think about, and would've been easier... then again, I wanted the "Teddy Roosevelt" look to the place.

.. I might.. one of the mistakes I feel I made with that one, I "froze" the creatures in place through scripting, rather than creating static meshes and putting them in poses with Blender.

lol, imagine how cool it would look to walk into a room and see a legendary fire gecko standing there like a stuffed bear (not a stuffed animal XD...i mean an actual bear).
