Early in the game I decided I was going to attack Caesar's legion. Obviously, my standing with them went way down and from then on I would be attacked on site. That makes sense.

However, now that I've made it to the strip, I got the letter from Caesar saying I need to come talk to him and that I will be granted immunity. I can make it to the camp, show the legion guard there my letter for entry, take the barge to the camp, and surrender my weapons all without trouble. But when I get to Caesar's tent, the guards attack me for no reason and being weaponless, I die instantly. This is pretty much a game breaker as it also means I can't finish the quests for what's-his-name who made the Platinum Chip either.

Has anyone else experienced this? Oh, and I've also tried wearing legion armor, it doesn't make any difference.

A fix would be much appreciated, as after the save game debacle that lost me 4-5 hours and various other issues, I'm about ready to delete this game from my harddrive and petition for a refund if I can't fix this. I'm not going to completely restart this game twice due to bugs, that's insanity.

edit: never mind on the refund. apparently steam never does refunds, ever, even if the product is clearly defective. so if someone knows a fix i would REALLY appreciate it, because otherwise I'm SOL and JWF.

Really? No one has had this issue or knows a fix? It seems like anyone who attacked the Legion early on and then sided with Mr. House would have the same problem here.

Is Boone your companion? I've heard of some companions causing the Legion to attack in their fort.

Im having the same problem. But it's strange, I have neutral standings with them and they still attack, and I'v already done this quest on my other character with no problems what so ever.

Boone is my companion, but I left him back in New Vegas. I'll try completely "de-companioning" him and see if that works. Could be that the trigger for the guards to attack is attached to him being listed as a companion, not to him being with me.

Yep, that fixed it, THANK YOU. I'm very glad that this went from a game breaker to an annoyance, because aside from the bugs I've had this game if excellent. But that's Obsidian for ya.
