Im at nellis air force base but cant get in. Found out theres a glitch where the guard wont talk. How do I fix this. If its not fixable then I cant continue through the main quest.

try dressing as an NCR and sneak onto the monorail from the strip, you'll arrive at the Nellis Station and can get into the airport from there. I believe the monorail station in the strip is located across from the Tops casino, up a flight of stairs.

Don't get seen taking the monorail by anyone who would see through your disguise, or your rep will drop with the NCR(so I've heard).

I went up to the monorail station, it said that it would go to McCarren.

:facepalm: omg my bad. I'm sorry, I'm an idiot. I haven't played the game in a while and got McCarran and Nellis mixed up(both being airports). I think there's a tunnel that goes out to there, I would check the wiki to make sure it doesn't just put you near the entrance again, but the door has a very hard lock, so you'll have to have a high lockpick skill.

I tried the tunnel and it only took me to the right side of the fence. Is there a key or some way to get the guy on the other side to open the gate.

does it say you need a key to open the gate? if it does, it most likely doesn't exist, it just unlocks after a script is played. there was some kind of scripting error, it doesn't happen every time, but if you have a save from before you went to Nellis that's probably your best bet. Otherwise you may have to attack them to try and get them to open it, if possible. try lobbing a grenade or two over the fence, then run like hell.

I got in. Had to shoot a guard then run down the fence until one of them chased me with a knife. Then put my gun away and talked to him. Thanks for all the help.
