Alright so I acquired a set of NCR Ranger Combat Armor the other day and got all excited cause I've wanted a set forever but while wearing it all the NCR bases our outposts report me as being neutral to them. I've done a lot for the NCR so I know it's not them just not liking me. When I take off the armor everything goes back to the way it was. Is this just because I killed a ranger to get it or because it's higher faction armor that I shouldn't be wearing or is it a down right glitch? If anyone has dealt with this before or has any info on it please let me know.

No, it's working as intended.

Your faction is set to neutral when wearing faction specific armor.

Same would occur if you were wearing legion armor.
