Hidden areas in DM?

Post » Wed Apr 27, 2011 2:32 am

OOPS, this should probably go into the cheat and spoilers section....could a mod please move it? Thank you.

So, I'm getting to the point where I finally breach the gates to the casino and I've found some areas that I can't seem to find any clear access to.

They are easily seen in Del Sol South and North. I play on PC so I was able to get to them via the "TLC" console command. I say they are hidden and unaccessable (sp?) otherwise because I can't find a clear path to them.

If you first enter Del Sol south when you are taking Dean to his location you turn to the right, where the giant tree is and the "Wild Wasteland" encounter (still can't figure out what it was) there is a balcony with no access. You can see Sierra Madre coins on the railing so obviously you are supposed to get up there. I "TLC"d up there and the went through the door there is a terminal and a bed that the PC can sleep on. There is also another door in the room and it takes you to the ledge of Del Sol North. When I went back to Del Sol North I could not find any way to get to the area that it dropped you off.

I also found two other beds the PC can sleep on in the Del Sol South area but again, the only way I was able to find them was through "TLC".

Now, I do admit, Del Sol south is quite confusing to navigate and may have probably "clipped' myself to areas that probably have access to them. I did not loot any of the areas because I'm ultimately hoping I can get to with some direction from the forum. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, and I found the snowglobe without actually looking for it. I just kind of wandered into an area and there it was.

Your description is a little hard to visualise but the room by the tree might be the one that you appear in once you leave the switching station with the elevator.

Yeah, I know it is. The areas are pretty confusing for me. It doesn't help that I'm color blind and everything has a red tint to it so it all looks the same to me.

But its not that area you talk about. That is another area with a balcony. The one I am referring to there is a hole in the wall that you can go through and be on the ledge. Its in the same area that has the roof you cross over with Christine. But I couldn't find a way to the area that I'm describing. I can take some screenies later.

i remember this one place where you have to jump over a gap in the balcony to get to a door, that what youre talking about? it might take 2 or 3 tries but its easy enough, just jump.

There's a lot of roof jumping going on in DM. I TLCed through the entire place, all cells, once just to see how I could get to all the *hidden* places, and I found that you could get to all of them by either roof hopping or through doors coming from adjoining cells.
