Geck will not reproduce sounds

Post » Thu May 05, 2011 8:07 pm

When I add a new sound that worked perfectly well with FO3 Geck it does not work with FNV geck, It will not even reproduce in-game. all the setting for the new sound are exactly the same in as they where in FO3 GECK and the file is in .wav format.

Are you sure the sound is in the correct directory? data/sound/fx/obj? EXACTLY that directory?

In actual fact the directory matters.. When I was still modding the FNV-GECK, I noted that a WAV file put in my own directory would not work, but put the same WAV file in the data/sound/fx/obj directory and it will work.

Strange, and there are other directories that also work, but its very specific.

If it works, sure. :) Test it and find out for sure; put the files in there, create a sound asset in the GECK and click "Play" to see if it works.

If not, put it in the Obj directory and try - it will likely work fine.

Can't explain it, there is something new and funky about how sound is handled in the NV-GECK that we do not yet understand.
