Simple Nifskope Vertical Translation

Post » Sun May 08, 2011 7:03 pm

Okay,

so I'm trying to simply make a small box move up and down in rhythmic fashion (when prompted to animate by a script), simply traversing the Z axis, nothing difficult; or so i thought.

I've been fiddling with various Blocks in Nifskope this eve and had no joy. When I try adding NiKeyframeController according to one tutorial I've stumbled across, the data field is greyed out.

The Block in question currently has a texture transformation added to it. Any ideas?

Appreciated,

Kris

the controller you want for transforms: For a single object use NiTransformController or you can array several objects you want to tranform in a NiMultiTargetTransformController.

A genius as ever eh bud? Cheers, I'll look into this further. I'm right in thinking it's literally a case of setting the object to move up and down IN nifskope right? I dont set up and export the anim in Max first?

Well I would always animate it in max. The exported nif not will not work out of the box though.

off the top of my head mainly it's pointing the Controller and Controller Type fields in the sequences controlled blocks array to the right blocks... as those field are always empty for some reason when exporting with the niftools plugin. Along with the usual nifskopery.

I did post once vaguely describing how to fix the data in a max exported nif. perhaps searching for my user name plus the term "Controller Type" would do it.... http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1137527-model-fine-in-nifskope-implodes-in-geck/page__p__16643547__hl__%22controller+type%22__fromsearch__1#entry16643547http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1137527-model-fine-in-nifskope-implodes-in-geck/page__p__16643547__hl__%22controller+type%22__fromsearch__1#entry16643547

along with saiden's animation tuts, that might help figuring out how to make it fallout consumable.

Doing it by hand in nifskope will probably be way harder and take way longer. I wanted to expand the material controller tutorial I made for F3 to cover making a sequence and setting up the controller manager by hand in nifskope. Just never got around to it.

Grand cheers, animated it, fairly simple. I'll try and get my head around Saiden's animation tut's, I struggled with it last time I checked, think it's down to me using Max 10 and whatnot... ta anyway though as per :)
