Crashed!

I don't know what it is but every now and again my game freezes! It is unlike anything I've experienced in the near past (it use to happen to me on my NES system in the early 90's) I tried blowing in the ps3 but it doesn't help! Any suggestions?

Welcome to New Vegas, PS3-style. I too have problems with freezing and it's so bad that frankly I can't be bothered to put up with it any more. Someone posted a list of things that some people say has helped, such as turning off the music, changing the HUD colour, creating new saves and deleting the old ones instead of re-writing old ones. But, I did all that and froze an hour in to my 2nd playthrough. I would really appreciate some news from Bethesda about a patch.

The most promising suggestion out of that list is the "safe mode" one. I don't know if you tried it already, but I'm pretty sure that was what helped me and a couple other players, although to be honest it doesn't work for everyone... It's worth a try, though, if you haven't already.

Has anyone tried waiting a crash out? I had a freeze occur and hit the ps3 button which did nothing, than I held the ps3 button which again nothing happened and I think I just got up and walked out of the room (frustration). When I came back to the game which I left on it was at the shut down menu! I got back into the game and continued playing without another freeze. Has this happened to anyone else?

yeah, this was how I would get out of dialogue freezes and such. it works sometimes, but not all the time. it's probably better than turning your system off after it's frozen up on you, and although I could keep playing for a little while after it would freeze up on me again, but that's just personal experience.

this game has so many faults everyone experieneces different issues, so I imagine there's multiple ways to fix them, and one option won't work for everyone, unfortunately...
