Cant Change Graphics Settings

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:12 am

Hi There,

It seems whenever I change my graphics settings in the fallout launcher, they always get reset when I actually start the game, so my game is "locked" at the recommended Ultra High Settings. Even when I change the few settings in-game, it tells me I need to exit and restart for the changes to take effect, when I do so the changes are reset so I restarted for nothing. Any ideas on what the problem could be? I dont see why it should be a problem to change your resolutions and whatnot.

Thanks.

Hello, I have tried setting the video settings via in game display settings and launcher video options, both areas dont seem to apply themselves, and reset back to ultra high. looking for the same fix I think.

I have this same issue.

I looked through all the .ini files I could find both under the steamapps\common\new vegas location as well as under my docs. Looking through the various inis I saw no where to modify the screen resolution.

Oddly, the only setting it seemed to save was the windowed mode toggle. It will stay in windowed mode, however, the actual resolution changes back to the default.

This is extremely frustrating.

EDIT: I tried launching the game from the desktop shortcut as some others have suggested and that did not help.

EDIT EDIT: the fix here: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1122866-graphic-settings-not-saving-fixed/page__gopid__16513161&#entry16513161

Worked for me. It seems this is a steam cloud issue.
