Shooting problems

I keep my controls at default, and after an unfortunate encounter with a blind deathclaw (very anti-exploration), when my game loaded from the last save, I noticed that closing the pip-boy caused my guy to shoot. I tried using R1, nothing happened. I paused, set the controls back to defaults, and when I unpaused, my guy fired again. It turns out, both usual ways of attacking (R1 and using VATS) didn't work, when I tried VATS, it slowed down, and took the usual amount of time as it should've for the shots I tried, but my guy never shot, and AP wasn't used. Closing the pip-boy, unpausing, jumping (or well landing after a jump) and closing VATS (by using circle to back out) were oddly, my only ways to attack. Now, I tried loading again, and same problem happened. I then decided to take a break and loaded from a save further back, and that fixed it I guess... Using the 2nd generation 80GB PS3, oh and if it's worth mentioning, I downloaded my classic pack somewhat further into the game then usual (was resting in Goodsprings, but on my way to Novac).

Pretty major bug imo.

I am having almost the exact same problem . The only way I can fire my gun is to hit the reload button . when i go into vats my char just runs around and cannot shoot at all. i tried to go to a different save and it still won't work. this has to be the most flawed game i have ever played. it's almost as if they pumped the product out before testing it so they could get the game out on time. they just figured the buyers could be the testers for em and they will say they just didn't notice all the bugs! it's some really shady business and i wish i didn't even buy the game at this point.

I am having the exact same issues. Every previous save of my game only allows me to shoot when I bring up my pip boy or reload. To make matters worse, if I try to start a new game it does it as well. I guess this will be one of those games that rot on my shelf.
