Hey guys got New Vegas and loving it!

Recently I decided to go gamble, my follower usually is a burden because he is always in the way. So I made him wait outside Vault 21 I went to the tops casino (In another part of Vegas through one of the doors) . Upon exiting I noticed when I went in my carrier weight was 250 and now it was 256, I immediately assumed something I had accidentally picked up. When I looked closer I noticed I was in possession of "Boone's Scoped Hunting Rifle". I went to pick up Boone and he had no rifle but a Machete! Then my next thought was to give it back to him, I went into equipment trade mode and It didn't show up! Reverse Pickpocket? No go! Load a save? Finished 2 missions since last one!

Add this to the bug list I guess, pretty sure it had to do with exiting casino. If anybody knows how Boone can get his rifle back, he svcks without it!

Not sure if this will work but drop the gun on the ground and see if he'll pick it up.

I will repost this one for you: So I have made my own fix for this. I have boon his good gun in his inventory is not visable, but when I go and talk to him and tell him I want to change his tactics to a ranged weapon, his gun appears on his back and he is good to go again. Try that see if it works! I think this works because when you get all your weapons taken away at the casino, when they give them back they are not equiped to you. I am thinking the same goes for your companions, so the way I see this fix working is that it just re-equips his gun.

Please stop posting this "fix". It does not work.

I agree that this "fix" did not work for me, but it occurred to me that it may have something to do with what else he is equipped with. I had given him a machete, for fun, which he did get back from the casino upon exiting. I tried several things regarding his inventory and fighting style after we were out of the casino and none of them worked, but it may have to do with what combination of equipment he goes in/out with. *shrug* If switching tactics actually worked for garredith it may just mean that the glitch is not 100% permanent.

Has anyone experienced this bug with other followers/weapons?

I have this bug too, one of the only ones I've seen really.

and no that doesnt work ... i tried it and after that i was unable to pick it up so it was useless "not like it was useful"

Sorry if it's true there is already a thread, I did search but nothing came up on here or google.

The fix didn't work for me. in the end I simply loaded an old save and did some missions.

Maybe there will be a patch soon. But for us that it already happened to, I think we might be stuck I am now saving my game before I enter a casino and sugguest everybody does the same.
