Game Defects?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:46 am

Okay, so i played the game for about 2 hours straight. Making regular saves, but when i got the quest "Come fly away with me" (love the Frank Sinatra reference) i get to the part where you talk to the Goul, and he just blabbers on about his girl. and i thought, " wow what a good time to take a break', and i proceed to save and shut off my Xbox, later that night i tried to reload the save, and it gave me this error message

"This save game relies on downloadable content that is no longer available. Some objects may be no longer available. Continue loading Yes/No?

Where i proceed to click Yes. and then it gave me this...

This storage device you selected is no longer available. Load canceled.

That really pisses me off, i click continue ( to see if it would load) and then my Xbox freezes, i looked at my storage device ( 120gb) and it was connected perfectly.

Please if someone could help it would be very much appreciated

If you take a look down the forum, you'll see that this is a pretty common bug we're running into. Some of us who had the Classic Pack DLC ran into this. Some of us tried uninstalling the DLC, same issue. Even those of us without the DLC have had the same problem, so it seems to me like it's a systems bug rather than corrupted save files, etc.

The most we can do, though, is wait for a patch. I sure hope it comes soon; I've had this game pre-ordered since January (before it was officially announced, I believe) and I actually ran into this bug right at the end of my first day of playing, just as I was sitting down to write a review article.

How convenient.

Yes, that must be a downer, well i am just disappointed in obsidian, i mean they were the people that made the original fallouts ( the STAFF, not the actual company) , its just sad to see a great game just go down so early after its release, i mean even Mw2 had some months before.....Well i think we both know how that ended up. Thanks for the reply, i hope i don't lose all of my time invested into my first play through.

Hey on a side note, where do you write reviews? I wouldn't mind checking some of them out.

I wish a lot of you understood that, with a game this scope, there's bound to be bugs. Yes, they should of play-tested a lot more. No, I'm not sure how a lot these were overlooked. There shouldn't be this many game-breaking bugs. But the game is great, and when the issues are fixed I'll be a hap hap happy camper.

Don't get me wrong - the contents of that review were going to be nothing but positive, and even after discovering that I'm going to have to wait for a patch to continue through the main story, I'm more than willing to wait.

Lots of people are saying that NV is what F3 should have been; I disagree, though. I think F3 was fantastic in its own right, and presented a very different setting than Black Isle originally showed us. It was done tactfully enough that I felt the original feel of the series was respected start to finish. I don't think it's a coincidence that the first quest in NV is called "Back in the Saddle," because that's exactly what the original designers are in this case. F3 was well-done, but comparing the depth of setting and character in F3 to New Vegas, you can see very quickly that Obsidian have a LOT of practice at this.

I digress, though; this is supposed to be for support. There are game-breaking bugs, yes. That's not a good thing for anyone. But again, I've had this pre-ordered since January, couldn't WAIT to pick it up yesterday, and even discovering the initial state of the game, technically, I feel that it's good enough that I'm not put off.

I too could not wait for this game and I am disappointed. I felt F3 was awesome X-box and PC versions. However, to wait (myself too since January) for to long for my Fallout fix and for it to be this buggy, is wigging me out. I can't get out of the bottom left of the map. And F3 was not so confining. I find myself unable too explore like i did in F3. Simple rock formations are not passable. I buy everything Bethesda makes. Even that awful Wet game I finished in a couple of hours. And I must say that my heart is twisted, how can I brag on this game to my boys. Especially after all the hype I gave this game before hand.
