I really have no idea about computers, and my mate has told me pc gaming is so much better, so is offering to build me a computer for ￡700 (i'm a bit worried as most gaming computers you can buy from retailers are alot more expensive than this :/) He said it will run most games fine, but i'm not sure what he's told me means, and i'm edgey on wether to trust him with my ￡700. So basically, will this computer handle FNV? I also have a ps3 that could run this game, so im not quite sure as of yet.

(This is what he has told me, he said he may change the parts slightly)

He said not to worry about the other parts, as they will hardly effect how well a computer can run a game. So, is this a good setup and worth the ￡700? How well will this run fallout new vegas??

i think that should be fine, specs havent been released so its really just the waiting game.

You know.... nobody can really answer your question except for the devs. Since the requirements haven't been released, everyone here is just making an educated guess. Which I'm assuming you should have been able to do on your own. But if was a good way to brag about some of your system stats........ I mean, really??? Did you REALLY need to know if you'd be able to run it?? :rolleyes:

I was looking for well educated guesses to reasure me, as i have said i have no idea what that processor is or anything else. im new to pc gaming and usually buy my computers built, so when i'm being told all this stuff it was quite daunting as to wether i was being ripped of or not.

I recommend you get the console version. It's just a more...clean experience. Controller just feels right in comparison with mouse and keyboard. If you don't want to, then your PC should run it fine.

That computer should be capable of running NV at max everything with little/no slowdown due to hardware. Indeed, you could likely run it with the inevitable ultra high resolution texture mods that will come out.

I suggest you ignore Nate's advice. Your PC is most likely capable of running NV flawlessly, which means you should. If you absolutely must use a controller, just plug in an xbox controller to your PC. If you go with the console version, you lose out on the inevitable really awesome mods.

Whoa whoa whoa...Just because Fallout was born on PC doesn't mean that it's the quintessential Fallout experience. Console versions are more pure since you can't just cheat whenever you want to. Although to be fair, I once played a PC game on a big screen TV with a 360 style PC controller and it was awesome. Still, mods are cheating and cheaters belong on the CW on Saturdays (that was an intentionally lame joke)

I did a quick google search on the processor your listed, it's right up there and sometimes beyond intel's i7. My crappy processor isn't even listed on the test page. Google is your friend. And if you're really curious, Google the video card your friend suggested. Trust me, you don't need to question whether or not that system could handle it.

Having the potential to make the game much harder is cheating? Making the enemy spawn points 5 times as many is cheating? You have the ability to make the game whatever you want. Most of the modding community, including myself do not consider it cheating. And to be fair, the "pure" game is awesome, I love it. But when I put 1000+ hours into it, I want something new.
