my mod crashes the game

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 1:08 pm

Okay, Ive been making a very simple house mod...troubles is i made some edits to it and now if i have the mod loaded the game crash before even reaching the main menu screen (normally just before the 'bethesda' screen on loadup).

Any ideas what could have caused this?

If you move object within the vanilla mojave, that have LOD on them (trees, for example) it liked to do this. At least in Fallout 3. I moved some trees and it would crash after about 2-3 seconds at main menu. Replacing the trees did the trick. Instead of having them deleted, or initally disabled, simply move them under ground and it should help. Provided its the same issue as was in Fo3.

that might be it, i deleted a few rocks outside the house...

How can i fix that though? I think FO3Edit had a tool to disabled deleted objects....but they havent updated it for new vegas yet have they?

I used FNVEdit and ended up deleting all my exterior changes and my mod worked again. So i went back and started making my changes again this time not deleting any of the vanilla objects....

And it crashing again...im stumped and just going to give up on try to mod New Vegas for now, crashing on simple edits and occassionally acting weird in the GECK is just not worth trying to work through.
