Erasing Cache from hardrive doesn't fix V.A.T.S. freezing

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 7:21 am

I went and read the suggested fix for the freezing in VATS problem, and it said to erase the cache. So i did. and i restarted the game and BAM!!! what do ya know? it still freezes. I'm starting to believe that one of the suggestions on their support site should be 'please buy another game that actually works'.
Not only does my game freeze in VATS, it freezes while crossing the border to Nevada, some 45 mins into the game. It freezes when encountering certain enemies. All kinds of goodies in this great game. Thanks Bethesda!! You've really outdone yourselves!

This is ridiculous. Fallout New Vegas is a WASTE OF MONEY! They dont need to patch the game. They just need to start from scratch and release a game that actually works!!

Unfortunately that isn't viable, I have also experienced this on one occasion where I was forced to have to reboot the console. All I can say is that many people experience different glitches within this game and you have been unfortunate in obtaining a game that contains this glitch. All I can say is that I hope that they release a patch that will fix these issues, so that you can continue to shoot people in the head on V.A.T.S

Are you re-installing the patch each time you restart after clearing the cache? Are you loading a game saved in Primm? If the answer is yes to both these questions, load your game after clearing the cache and do not install the patch. Get you character out of Primm, then save. Now you can install the patch if you want.

I'm not sure if this is the case for you, but I'm just trying to help.

I must be really lucky not to have experienced any of the huge glitches in this game. Biggest glitch I've seen is the little girl in Freeside sliding on the ground on her knees like she was eating a giant rat.
