No patching for me ?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 1:46 pm

Hello everyone.

I think i have a problem with the patch delivered on x360 the 23th.
I play with the asian version (NTSC J) of Fallout NV, but the game doesn't prompt any kind of update patch when i play.

Is it normal ? (strange because the game is strictly the same than US version)

I am alone in this situation ?

Thanks for feedback on it :)

In the dashboard go to my xbox and then settings way over to the right. Go to memory and with your hard drive highlighted press the Y button. Clear the cache. Next time you start the game it should prompt you to update.

Tried but nothing changed, the game doesn't seem to see a update on x360 live

Then count yourself lucky that the update wasn't applied to the Japanese version. After I got the update, the next time I played I experienced the glitch where it says DLC is missing and none of my save files have worked since then.

yeah i read the problems coming after patch. But i am concerned about this because if we don't get the first patch,
maybe they won't patch the game at all for the asian version.....a little worried about this.

my version is not a japanese version but an asian version (an english version put in NTSC J format for asia)

i have the same problem after 37 hours into the game, but i have spoke with one of the developers and he said there working on the issue but unfortunately paches and updates dont fix things like corrupt files but he did say hang on to the saved files because their is a chance they might work after the patches, and no i didnt get a dead line or any idea on when these patches will be finished or released.anyways hoped that helped n im am definitely not thrilled about starting over but i have seen an EXP glitch in vault 11 that just might make it worth it after the patch but idk i really want my save file im way too far in the game just to start all over again:(
so mainly we have to rely on chance that it will fix our save files .

Any word on an update for the Asian version? I'm playing the Asian version as well, and I hope to get an answer soon as to when we can reasonably expect a patch.

We got the shaft on these patches with Fallout 3 as well. Always took a couple extra weeks (and some complaining) to get the updates to the Asian region. Hopefully we'll get it soon because I have a few quests that are bugged out at the moment.

Yes, ED-E and several quests with problems make me mad.

There may be a way to trigger the ED-E quest. Old Lady Gibson wouldn't talk to me, but I was able to visit the scientist at Helios-1 and ED-E started up his automated response. Might help.

Yup, we have the update. First thing I did was to fast travel to Remnants Bunker, where previously Arcade was glitched after "For Auld Lang Syne". He was dressed in Tesla Power Armor and his character model kept blinking in a translucent state. I couldn't get him to follow me, and during the final battle at Hoover Dam only the 5 old timers showed up; Arcade was no where to be seen. His dialog tree only consisted of a handful of options and his companion wheel was missing when I clicked on him. The update didn't fix that. At least this is a positive start, as it means we will be getting the future updates as well.

edit: Raul's quest is still bugged, as in talking to Ranger Andy won't trigger any dialog. Another noticable difference I found post patch is companions don't go back to Lucky 38 when you dismiss them, instead they will go back to their original area where you found them. I tested this with both Veronica (188 Trading Post) and Raul (Black Mountain shack).

One other thing to note is the patch size is 3MB. I wonder what is the patch size for the U/C region on the 360?
