Gloves?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 4:21 pm

Something I've noticed while watching gameplay videos of Brink, no matter what gloves the avatar has on in first-person, in third-person they're always shown wearing black fingerless gloves. This is especially noticeable in the matter of class trailer, where a medic and an engineer go from wearing a pair of red gloves and a pair of construction-looking gloves to wearing black fingerless ones.

Has anyone else noticed this? Maybe gloves are rendered always as black fingerless ones to other players, regardless of what you put on your character.

Whoops, I didn't think to check the SD forums. Apologies.

Though, I can't help but wonder what else won't show up to other players...

It's been a while since we've seen actual gameplay of third person. Thay'll either fix it or leave it because it's not really all that important.
OR MAYBE THE GLOVES HOLD THE POWER TO BE ABLE TO SEE YOURSELF FROM BEHIND!!!

Hm, and I thought customisation would actually affect that. Well, still a nice touch.

Its just an indicator of class, just a little obscure item that tells you the class without messing up customization a ton, like a shirt that says "Medic" on it would.

I know what it does. I read the thread on the SD forums. It's just not what I expected; which doesn't mean I dislike it very much.

Giving you a Shirt with "Medic" writing on it is entirely different, though.
The gloves tell you - the player - what class you are at the moment.
The shirt would tell others - your team - what class you are at the moment.
