Bounding box and collision

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 10:08 pm

I've created some new joshua trees and they show up like they should in the game and in the editor, the problem i'm having is that they lack collision and that i can't seem to move them around in the editor.

Any help how to create a bounding box and collision would be great. (I'm quite familiar with NifSkope and Morrowind, but not with New Vegas and its entries in Nifskope).

Thanks.

I am also struggling with collision boxes, but a nifskope expert on newvegasnexus has pointed to a useful looking tutorial in http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/290830-nif-assistance-floating-object/page__p__2639107__fromsearch__1#entry2639107.

Great, i'll have a look :) Thanks

Edit: ok, i've figured out how to make collision in Blender, i only had to select scripts, mesh, hull (first having selected a part of my mesh that i want collision on).

Now I only need to be able to grab my objects in the Editor, when i drop them into it i can never grab/move them again.. Anyone got an idea what i need to do in NifSkope or in the Creation Kit so it's easy to grab my object?

Edit 2: nvm, i figured it out, changed the .nif from a NiNode to a BSFadeNode, now i can suddenly select it. The Blender script defaults to exporting it like this it seems, and it doesnt work with New Vegas..

If you have the newest version of blender, you can check a box on export to have it save as a BSFadeNode or, you'll have to go back to nifscope to change the NiNode to the proper format. Most FO3 and, FNV meshes need to be BSFadeNode's for them to work.
