Five essential mods

http://www.ripten.com/2010/10/24/five-essential-pc-mods-for-fallout-new-vegas/

This site lists six mods that you can get from Fallout new Vegas Nexus.

There is a mod which fixes the constant lag, a UI improvement mod, a World brightener mod(I.e, less bleak, but still realistic), a mod which extends the gameplay beyond the ending(The creator is working on changing the faction territories to correspond to the endings), a centred PC mod, which gives you a much wider view of yourself in third-person.

There is also a fun little radio mod broadcasting different real life warnings and tips from the 50s about nuclear bombs and fallout.

I dont recommend the D3d9 Fix after the last patch, and there is DarNified UI NV which for me is better than MT UI

You could check http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/top/ for mods.

That article has been linked many times. Personally i use none of those. DarnUI, FelloutNV, Readius, Reinforced Chinese Stealth Suit and Dragonskin Tactical Outfit are my "essentials" ;)

I'll be using MTUI until Darn gets DarnUI to v1.

I think that mod that removes many of the invisible walls is essential.

This is a bit outdated because the d3d9 performance fix is no longer needed with the most recent patch.

There is no reason for that, there aren't any glaring bugs in the current version.

Pretty silly considering DarnUI for FO3 is v0.11.1a and he still calls it an "alpha" version. I guess you'll just be using MTUI forever then.
