FREEZE.....Don't move!

Good morning PS3, how are you today?

*Beep*

Good, good! Ready for a day off hardcoe Fallout: New Vegas to complete those trophies?

*Beep*

Cracking, let's get started!

-----------------------------------

10mins into the game & *BAM* - it freezes up forcing system reset. Play for 30mins & slow gradual jerks as walking resulting in *BAM* - it freezes. Now, after this happening a good 7 or 8 times you start to suspect that it's not actually your PS3 that's causing it yet your game (especially when every other game you play doesn't freeze). You see, I can handle glitches & online lagging in games such as 'COD', if anything you kind of expect it but seriously, come on...a purely offline game shouldn't have so many issues.....should it???

I shan't lie...I absolutely despise this game! Spending so much time lost in frivolous conversations, walking for hours to pointless locations, being obliged to swap & change between junk etc...for the sake of progression! This is seriously not my cup of tea. I like games with objectives & logic yes but when it's dragged out so much my brain screams in agony for entertainment & challenge. The more I play the more I feel I'm going to turn into a fiend myself BUT alas, there are trophies to achieve & if I can achieve them then I shall trudge on through crap to get them. What infuriates me is how often this blasted game freezes up. Sometimes it's in particular locations, sometimes it's because there's simply too much happening on the screen at once, other times it's because the game is going through it's menstrual cycle. All I want is to be able to complete the game, achieve ALL trophies then it can be archived in my cupboard with all the other titles I've long forgotten about & should a real Fallout scenario happen would keep some scavenger collectic amused for years.

I can't achieve anything if the game continues to freeze forcing me to get up, walk across the room to reset my PS3 every 10mins. Mind you, I'm sure the game teases me on occasions as rarely I can manage 1hr before it freezes up (or when I haven't saved in a fair while, finally getting a lot done & it decides to have me off & force me through it again) ARGHHHHHHHH!!!

This game is going to cost me my girlfriend, my mortgage, my life if I don't finish it soon.

Bethesda.....WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO US & WHEN ARE YOU FIXING THIS AMONGST EVERY OTHER ISSUE POSTED ON HERE BEFORE I FILE FOR DIVORCE WITH MY PS3!?!?!?!?!?!

People, please.....ideas on getting through & completing trophies quickly! Feel free to vent on here too!

:c)

Anger, Frustration, Hatred for Bethesda, Drive to snap disc in half in that order (except for breaking my ps3)

Switched platforms and frankly I don't care anymore, moved on to other games.

Frustrated. And ripped off. Why pay for a Collectors Edition guide and game just to have to sell it because it's unplayable? [censored] ridiculous.

I voted other because I haven't had much of any freezing, Fallout 3 was worse than NV for me. I think your main problem though is the gameplay is not rewarding for you. If you actually enjoyed the game it wouldn't feel like you were grinding, at least it didn't when I played Fallout 3.

I personally never cared about trophies, they seem like a weird way to brag about how well and how many games you played. Insomniac's skill points on the other hand, I went earned everyone of those svckers. So if it's about self-satisfaction, to say "I completed this game in every way possible," then I get it, but if it's just about getting a larger trophy collection, who cares. Different strokes I guess.

Anger, Frustration, Hatred of Bethesda.......

The biggest thing that pisses me off is that pretty much all of the freezing problems people are having with NV are the exact same problems people had with FO3 ( especially the GOTY edition ). It angers me that they'd take an engine with major known problems and then go ahead and release another game with it without addressing the issues.

When I was younger seeing the Bethesda logo on a game box was a good indication that you were getting a quality game. Even games they put out that had a lot of bugs ( Daggerfall ) were immensely enjoyable and didn't have any real game-killers.

After this experience with FO3 and NV on the PS3 I won't ever buy another game developed or published by Bethesda without waiting for several months to see what the problems are. They just don't seem to put in the effort necessary to put together a working product anymore.

Sorry guys - it's past time for some routine clean-up on this board. Let's try to keep the blowing off steam confined to one thread. (We don't generally allow duplicate threads - anywhere on this forum.) Please feel free to continue in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1175465-this-is-ridiculous/page__st__40 thread. Thanks!
