Would make things so much easier if every burglar/criminal were stupid as this guy. Don't know what is dumber though leaving your cell phone at the scene of a crime or leaving your wallet. *Yup there's a story where a criminal left his wallet at the scene of a crime*

You can't be that stupid? Well I guess you can. But leaving the phone charging? Alot of people would forget that even when at home, let alone burlaring someones home.

I heard about this on the radio on the way into D.C today. What a [censored] idiot that guy is. You know, from what I've heard, they caught the guy simply by getting the last person he called to tell them about the guy.

Hahaha that's just unfortunate.
You have to be pretty stupid to be a thief in the first place though. Is it really the only way some people think they can get by?

"I want X; so I will take X." It's not exactly something I approve of, but I see nothing in that thought that makes it "stupid".

But on topic, this article quite literally made me lol. Wonder if he would have seriously just waited around for the phone to fully charge...

Wouldn't even have to lie -- simply say, "Hey, I found this phone, can you give me an address or something so I can return it?". 100% truth .
