Why aren't the game breaking save game bugs fixed yet?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:35 am

I'm talking about the Vault 34 glitch. There are a few other game corrupting bugs in the 360 version. There aren't very many of these. Why aren't these patched? Shouldn't these be priorities? I don't want to boot up the 360 and find that the next patch only fixes graphics bugs.

In Vault 34 you can't save in the Overseer's office and you can't even go inside the Armory. It's been a few weeks since launch.

Latest news is posted http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1125221-please-read-from-the-teams-at-obsidian-and-bethesda/. As soon as we have more details, we'll let you know.

Correct... we're working on additional updates covering many of the issues being reported here in the forums and elsewhere. Presently, I dont have an ETA to share on that update.

The game updates we're working on emphasize resolving issues with bugs, etc that are being reported by the community. Changes in gameplay aren't too likely to happen -- unless it relates to a bug/issue.

Significant patches take a significant amount of time. I understand how long two weeks feels like when you're frustrated about something but it's not all that much time to catalog, test, reproduce, track down, and fix a major bug - and even when all of that is done the patch still needs to be sent through QA and in the case of console releases Microsoft's and/or Sony's QA.

I understand that because I am software developer in my real life. However other people don't understand. They think computer programming is just pressing a button or some drag-and-drop.

Some say the DLC glitch is caused by Come Fly With Me, others say it's caused by Vault 34. The truth is it's not caused by any specific quest or location, people just think it's caused by whatever they're doing at the time it happens to them. Then rumors spread.

thent they should have released the game a month later, this is not an excuse. they should have tested the game MUCH better and fixed the bugs before release. cause now many people are playing the game and cant continue at some point meaning they are waiting and waiting to finaly get back into their game, if they fix the major bugs before release they also reduce the chance of getting a bad reputation and people wont be disapointed by all this.

ive been waiting for this game since they announced it. and really.. next fallout game will have to wait a few months before i buy it.. i will read on the internet and check for details and complains first cause i cant stand waiting like this then i rather just wait and have a more bug-free game

Fixing the bugs doesn't make them any money, it costs them money. That's why they have not and will not be fixed.

With all these major bugs flying around, not too many will be buying the DLC. Poor sale in DLC means less money. Therefore they have to fix some of these major bugs.

My first time playing through I went full-bore into the game and did Come Fly With Me as soon as it was open to me. I did the whole thing, including picking up the Spacesuit, and the next day I went to load my save and it was corrupt. I currently have a game that I have since completely restarted, played somewhat more cautiously through this time around and did Come Fly With Me again all the way through and did not pick up the Spacesuit. My game has not had any problems in regards to the DLC save corruption as I have not entered Vault 34 either. Nobody can say it's black and white, it's not that simple. While you may have gone through Come Fly With Me and picked up the Spacesuit with no issues, I have. If those were the only two test cases, that's a 50% bug right there. That's pretty big numbers when it comes to an issue like that. Spread that out over a few hundred thousand people and compare the numbers, it will look quite different. I say to prove this one way or the other, pick up the Spacesuit in a play-through; save, quit, see what happens. Try it a couple of times, and the more people that find the issue the more proof you either have for or against this argument.

I just think it's unacceptable that I feel like I can't use a product that I paid money for. Until the savegame thing is fixed I will continue to feel robbed.

Never experienced anything like this in all my years of gaming.
