The Strip Gate Bugged!

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:41 pm

Ok so I recently came across this bug in Fallout a couple of days ago after finishing all the quests I had. I wanted to go back to the strip to check in with Yes Man and see if I missed any quests that could put me back on the main storyline. When I walked up to the gate it said (requires a key). Now obviously I had to have a key to even meet Yes Man so I thought maybe its being like this because I needed to give the Xbox a little break. So I did. Came back and it says (Requires a key). So am I locked out of the strip permenatly? If any of you know the answer can you please tell me?

I believe you can kill and/or pick pocket a Securitron for a key. I've never had this issue nor have I tried this method, but I've read it works on several forums.

There is an easier way which means that you don't need to kill them, use the monorail at mcarrans camp ? I think that's what its called, this is far easier and you area able to access the gate all the time once doing it once. So use the monorail within the building, go up the stairs and there will be a sign saying monorail, with 2 NCR guards guarding the door, just run through wait for it to load and then enter the monorail which will take you to the strip, I hope this helped

Why the 2 monorail guards always turn hostile? My relationship with NCR is Accepted. My weapon was not drawn. Obviously my armor is not faction related because nobody attacked me until I walk near the monorail doors at Mcarran camp.

The Gate to the strip became locked after I completed the 2 Omerta missions where you need to recover the weapon cache in Fiends territory and the Chlorine gas. I am on NCR questline so I don't want to fight them. Shooting the 5 securitron in front of the gates to get the key is the only way. You have to be careful since those inside the gate will attack you as well. Don't shoot at the NCR MP if you don't want to loose NCR fame.

I read elsewhere in Fallout wiki that you need to have NCR uniform on to use the monorail in a peaceful manner. Can anybody confirm that?

I too did the Omerta quests, except I stopped their plans, and this happend to me. I was locked out and used the monorail dressed as a ncr trooper and got through fine. I then saved in the strip, walked into freeside and the gate was open again, like the previous person said.

It will not effect the way they feel about u if you don't kill them just run through the door, make sure you have enough stimpax yo survive the gunshots.

My big question is now does it matter if I can't go back in The Strip if I want to side with the Brotherhood?
