Rage Nothing Special

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 4:24 am

I have looked at most of the trailers. It's another run and gun but pretty. Disappointing. In Stalker run and gun is a quick way to die. It's obvious the player is way overpowered and the NPCs quite weak. In Stalker a high level NPC is probably a better FPS player than you.

I cut my teeth on id games. Learned to play on Doom and Quake. Became a bit of a monster playing Q3. My chops have been honed by Stalker's brutal and humiliating environment and I doubt Rage will challenge me much.

Consoles and phones are not where I play.

Dude, it isn't even out yet, judging the gameplay by just looking at it is like judging a movie by only reading about it...

I agree that Stalker is awesome, but not every game needs to be that hardcoe, and past id games were pretty much run and gun, yet still full of awesome action.

I don't think its fair to compare Rage to the average console shooter. From what we have seen so far, it doesn't have levels littered with chest-high walls for a forced "cover system", it is not super-linear filled with cutscenes, and there is no two-weapons only bs. The weapons themselves seem varied and fun to use, and the cars are a nice bonus. It definitely doesn't look like a generic throwaway shooter to me, but like I said, we won't know till its out, or there is a demo or beta (there really should be one...).

You are largely right. I was hoping for something amazing and as time goes by it's more and more obvious this will be nothing new. I'm sure it will be good and I will of course buy it but it does not look like I will get to use my tactical skills which is what I find most appealing these days.

Maybe you could just rent it at a Family Video first or gamely. I think it'll be more than what we make it out too be. We'll prolly find out more at E3

If you do not like rage because you do not go to the forum Stalker and flatter her as much as possible and do not come over to complain that rage does not surprise you and do not like here in this forum is to speak well and to discuss rage, not Like you say no to that are other forums, if you do not like rage well and end point and finish the story to anyone we care but if you like is fine.

heres an idea. stop comparing every game to stalker, and drop your huge ego when you log in. You arent on the stalker forum.
you are on the Rage forum. dont be so disprespectful.

everything youve seen so far is a placemark,, so all you've seen is how the game looks, roughly.
its pretty ignorant to say that its not going to be a challenging game.

Why should I? Stalker is the best video game ever made, so it makes sense to use that as a comparison. Respect you will have to earn.

I know id games very well. I was hoping for something more.

See, I didn't really like stalker. Stalker is the best TOO YOU. Not to us specifically. Get your facts straight

This topic is not going well. Why not wait until the game comes out and then you can base your opinions on facts.
