This is just a few questions to focus my gameplan for this Campaign I am working on, I'll start to post information in a week or 2 down the road.

I love quests, but I think the story and the general entertainment the quest itself offers is more important than its reward.

For voice acting, either very good or not at all. No voice acting is better than bad voice acting. Overall I don't care about voice acting much and I don't expect it from modders.

Long immersive quests, occasionally combined with great shootouts. Large or many interiors to explore with stragically placed enemies inside. Thats the best you can have :celebrate:

I'd love to see some STALKER like quest rewards, where insead of giving you items or caps, you get the location of a place where the task giver knows there are some decent loot.
So after the quest, you have to go through some additional hassle to claim your reward. This shouldn't be too hard though, just a couple of enemies/traps, and a short-medium length to get to.
You could even have task givers give you information on good loot ony to show up themselves to ambush you.

Something like the GNR Quest reward in Fallout 3? If so, I like that as well. Information = Knowledge = Power.

Personally, I'd rather have no voice acting than amateurish voice acting or bad sound quality (which I've noticed seems to be the rule more than the exception for player-made quests). I always use subtitles anyway. There's nothing that ruins immersion more than bad voice-acting or inappropriate ambient background noise.

I also like quests that can be solved in multiple ways -- I don't mind violence if it makes sense for the quest. But the best quests are ones where a brute-force solution may work with a great deal of danger, but there are one or more sneaky or clever or diplomatic ways to solve it with less chance of dying.

Seems most people have answered the same as me, so the majority is my opinion right now.

I'd like to see involved quests that require me to use my head a little, and solving problems through dialogue rather than fighting is a huge plus. While I seeing people take a bullet from my Desert Eagle and watching their heads explode in a cascade of red mist and chunky gore, there's a certain satisfaction in scaring a bad guy senseless so he just cowers before me, or having a silver tongue coated in gold and studded with diamonds to persuade people to do what I want, without them knowing their being manipulated.

As for fighting, I prefer a fair bit of it, there's really not that much fighting in New Vegas, there's a fair amount yes, but so few spawns and the wasteland feels fairly empty. Now, it is a wasteland, so I get that, but it's not as fun from a gameplay perspective. So lots of fighting is fine, but it needs to be balanced out.

As for equipment, I've always been the kind of guy who loved makeshift armor that looks like it belongs in a wasteland. I don't mind te tactical equipment and the modern gear, I liked it quite a bit on FO3 actually. But in this game, it just doesn't work. The cowboy theme is heavy, and in combination with the wasteland feel and the 50's tech, it's pretty awesome. I'll always choose a leather jacket and some makeshift armor on top over a big, bulky suit of power armor.

EDIT: Oh yeah, voice acting. I would prefer having it, but only if it's good. A decent microphone and as little background noise (preferably none) as possible is a must, if not then I prefer just reading honestly.

EDIT2: Wow, I am forgetfull today aren't I? Quest rewards. I rarely care that much about them really, my character right now looks like http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/1444/loganhomeheadout.jpg and uses a Desert Eagle, so I'm not planning on using any of the stuff I get from quests. My character looks awesome right now, and that matters to me, I haven't changed that outfit at all since I got it, except for screenshot purposes or when it's been taken from me.
