Did the new patch fix quest bugs?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:47 pm

For those that have the newest patch, did it actually fix any quest bugs? For example, in I Fought the Law if you took the path to help the NCR to retake the prison and succeeded, this victory was always considered a loss on both the radio and end game cinematic. So, was this fixed? Also is ED-E finally fixed? Thanks.

I played 12 hours straight with only 2 issues. which sorted themselves out.. It dropped framerate twice but it sorted itself out (like it never did before) and the quest from the irradiated town where you have to get the Radiation suits. The guy in Novac would not talk to me. Im going to restart the game's story, to see what I can find.

I've played about 5 hours with the new patch installed and in the process attempted to get ED-E to reappear with no success.

For those with the new patch who are half-way through a game:

I highly suggest starting a game from scratch after downloading the patch. Any quest bugs, like bad triggers, could still possibly be there since you've already been playing. it's kind of complicated...

imagine this: your exploring a vault, and come across a computer. it has a "very hard" lock, so you wander around looking for a password, hoping there is one. you find it, and your sure it's the proper password cuz the wiki says so, yet it won't unlock the computer. this is a scripting/trigger bug.

Because the faulty trigger/script has already played out, it's a possibility that no patch could fix it, because you've already activated the trigger.

I noticed this problem many times in both F3 & NV. If you notice quest bugs are still there, you may want to try loading a previous save from before you attempted the quest, or just start a new game entirely.

Edit: And before you take this lightly, Gstaff suggests it as well if your still experiencing problems.

If you're running into issues still, try rolling back to a previous save before issues started setting in.

I don't have a list of quest issues that were solved, but I've been told that it does correct a number of quest related issues.

The ED-E issue should now be resolved. As mentioned previously, if you're still having issues, try rolling back to a previous save or starting a new character.

Although I'm still wihtout the patch, is there any official word on this issue? I'd rather wait and not get it if it's gonna compromise my downloads.

Thank you for checking on that. Is this quest ever going to be fixed? Seeing how the outcome is mentioned in the ending, you would think this quest would been fixed by now....

I think, don't take my word for it, but I think it's because of PSN being down that this is happening.

yeah the usual Fallout commandments:

1.do not use auto saves.
2.save frequently.
3.save always on a new file, never overwrite.
4.keep around 10 saves and delete the old ones every now and then.
5.start praying when the save file gets close to 10 MB.
