Any word on the red dot sights?

One of the devs, I think JB, said something once about "combat optics" i think was the phrase he used. Nothing specific, but a red dot certainly falls into the combat optics catagory. And don't ask me to find the reference, it was back around all the e3 interviews and I'm just too lazy to look it up.

Then again, this is just an assumption.

no but they may have had them in the 2050's.
Culture stayed in the 1950's
tech skyrocketed.
hell we have laser sights, im sure they did around the same time.

I'm pretty sure all you're going to get is scopes. Not really the same, but who cares? Red dot sights just don't really seem to fit in. It'd be a waste of a perfectly good mod to have a non zoom optic.

Well, it's a good thing that the Fallout series does not take place in the 50s, and that the Great War didn't happen until 2077.

I honestly do not understand the whole "If it's not 50s, it's not Fallout" mindset.

Probably not as why would they bother putting a red dot laser sight on the gun when they can add an underslung fully damaging laser assembly (probably around the same strength as a weak laser pistol at a guess) instead.

Would it really fit in? How about a custom job featuring a magnifying glass with a crosshair painted on? I really don't know how well it would work. Then again considering the guns in fallout two it certainly seems plausible enough.

Well with the underslung damaging laser why would you need or want another attached laser which doesn't do any damage.

Plus given that New Vegas is an RPG all a laser sight should do is add a slight accuracy increase.
