How to tell how many objects are in a cell?

Is there a way to tell or somewhere that tells you how many objects are in a particular cell? Forgive my noobish question.

If you just mean any type of object, room tiles, items, people, triggers, etc. then you could just load the cell and look on the bottom of the geck where it says loading "A number' refs. Right at the start it should say. It may be difficult, and its a really bad way, but I don't know of any other way.

Yes, I mean the total of everything. Believe me, I've tried that way, lol. It just pops up and starts counting down so quickly that I can't tell the total number.

Yeah, that would be an issue wouldn't it. Perhaps there is something somewhere in a record in FNV edit? I'm not really sure of any other way to find out. What do you need to know for?

If you load the cell all of the items are listed in the right panel of the Cell View window. Get to counting :P

If there are a lot of items you can re-size the window to only show 10 or so items at a time (whatever works best) click to highlight the 10th one then scroll again until you have them all counted.

Well, I did try just counting them, but with probably close to 1000 or more objects, that's pretty impossible to get accurate, lol.

The reason I was wondering is just to double check a vanilla cell in my mod. A while back I was tinkering around in a cell VERY, very late one night after a 12+ hour session working on my mod. (I'm sure you all know how those are, right?)

Anyway, I thought I had my junk plugin loaded that I use for poking around and trying to figure out things. And I started removing the room markers and stuff. Well, it turns out that this was NOT my junk plugin, but my mod I'm working on now.

I'm 99.9999% sure I just reverted back to a previous save, but I thought if I could compare the number of objects in the vanilla cell to the number of objects in my plugin, as long as the amounts were the same the cell in my mod is still untouched. It's just to ease my mind me being anol/OCD about things as I often do, lol.

If you think you made a dirty edit just view the file details in the GECK. If the cell was changed it will be listed there with the CELL prefix. Pressing the delete button will remove the edit next time you save the mod if you do find anything.

OK, really dumb question, where do I find the option to view the file details?

It is much easier to use fnvedit to see what you have changed.

Oh boy. That is all you needed to do? Make sure a vanilla cell is untouched in your mod? Load your mod up in FNVEdit, and go under the Cell prefix. Then look for the vanilla cell you dont want edited. If you cannot find it, you did not change it at all, if you do find it, right click on it and say 'Remove'. It will ask you if you are sure you want to edit the file, say yes, say yes remove the record, then save and close. This will undo any edits you accidently made to the vanilla cell.
