restart?

Last weekend my saves crashed, game would freeze when I came to close to the doors of the NV strip. Then the game started freezing at the loading screen when I attempted to fire up my save. Ive noticed this is something common with all of you. That was the only problem I encountered after the October patch. The only issues I had before that were with the broken quests, which the patch did in fact fix. This is the only problematic glitch I've come across while playing.
Now I have a few questions, that I've been rolling over in my head while I've been following the posts over the past week. Currently I have one save and cannot access my saved game at all. so its wait or restart at this point.

First could the save crashes be caused by using "cheat" glitches either for caps or xp. I will admit I got frustrated at one point and gave a glitch i found a try. I also found another one in the free side casino after you recruit the six bot- once you complete the quest involved with getting said npc for the owners, when you talk to it you gain 10 caps, every time. So i did that for a while till it got tedious.
Again i didn't have any issues until i hit the strip, so not sure if the problem is with exploiting the game.

Secondly Could there be conflicts with the new 360 console updates and the game itself. I don't recall the console updates around the time problems are actually being reported but its just a thought.

Another question, has any one actually restarted their game since the save crashes, and has any one who hasn't exploited an xp or caps glitch had issues?
Ive been tempted to start a new game and see what happens.

I have also been tempted to return the product, as i reserved the special edition( about $80 after tax) and put the money.
I'd rather not have to do that I bought this product because I want to explore the game content, though as stated in the sticky posts, waiting "weeks" for the fix, while i understand the programing and the fact that to error is human, I feel major issues like this are unexceptionable for products costing consumers so much money, and while there maybe some justification in condemning the companies involved with this game for their mistake. To do so is unfair as each company is made up of many individuals, and mistakes happen, the companies are working on the problem and it will take some time. If you find you can wait then do so, and report any other problems you come across if you decide to continue playing, If you can't wait return the game and buy another product. As i said I'm on the fence with what to do. However I personally have had no issues with Bethesda or Obsidian products in the past, so while I am extremely frustrated with the state of their current product, which may come to me returning it, interacting rationally and calmly with these companies will ensure better products in the future. But that's just my two cents...
