GECK Power Up Model loader error on exit

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 11:46 am

I keep getting the following error when I save and exit:

MODELS: Model loader still contains xx nif files. (the xx varies from 2 or 3 to the last time it said I had 18 nifs.

Origin: 004C4EBF

"yes to all... blah, blah, blah...

I also get an error with the Lamplight Chandelier that says it contains lights but don't have a light or something. I think I got the same error with the chandelier with the FO3 Geck, but not he model loader error. Are these just some nag errors, or something I need to be concerned about?

Thanks

I don't think so but if you want, package it up and give me a link and I will test her out for you, to see if everything shows up on my end.

The good news about geck powerup is that you can see all the errors. The bad news is you can see all the errors. Some areas in the base game have dozens of errors. I have requested to the geck powerup author to give us some control over which types of errors are enabled; for example, it would be handy if we could have a mode which only enabled script syntax errors. I tend to read the error quickly, and if it clearly doesn't go to stuff I have changed, I click "yes to all" so it won't show up again that run.

Thanks guys! I'll pack it up and send the link tonight when I get home from work.

Also, what are texture swaps? I seem to be getting some of those errors too and thought they might be related?

For example, I was working on one of my guards face and appearance the other night. I went in and played with the generation button and found a face I liked. Hit apply and saved the NPC. I reopened him, went to head parts added eyebrows and a beard. I didn't like the beard that much so changed it to another one. As soon as I did it gave me an error I believe said something like not all texture swaps were performed or something (I forget what exactly).

But the beard showed up in the face looked fine so I thought it was OK. I saved and loaded the game to see how he looked and once again I had a missing NPC. In fact, BOTH guards were now missing, and nothing I could figure out to do would bring them back.

So I basically spent the better part of 2 hours tweaking my guards, placing all of their patrol markers, linking it all up, checked that it all worked properly in game... and poof! They were gone just because I changed a friggin beard?!?!

Sigh...so once again I had to revert to a previous save and slog back through all that work again. It's been really frustrating and I've wasted a ton of time because of stuff like that that never happened in FO3's Geck.

There seems to be a fairly big issue with NPC's disappearing and AI packages not working properly either :brokencomputer: I would like to just hear, that they are working on a GECK update, at least that would give us something to be hopeful for. I was reading a thread today Balok and you may find some helpful information in it ------->> http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1160217-forgetful-geck-npc-placing-issue/

Yeah, I saw that too. At least it makes me feel a little better knowing I'm not completely insane and delusional, although by the time I finish this mod I probably will be.

Any thoughts on the texture swap error?

I FTP'd the mod to my server. Here's the link if you want to poke around. Please let me know if you find anything I should address, and thank you in advance!
